Ilha de Itamaracá
The island is mainly covered with luscious protected forests on the western side.
Whereas on the eastern side, you find km of long white sandy beaches, mainly fronted by weekend holiday homes of the elite of Recife. All kind of beach activities are available on the island. Itamaraca is today recognised as one of the best kitesurf spot in Brazil.
Although there are only 21.000 permanent residents on the island, the number swells during summer and at weekends, as tourists are drawn to the warm and calm sea waters, protected by a reef only two miles offshore. The island still remains quieter than Pernambuco’s other busy beaches at the peak of its activity, making it perfectly enjoyable all year round. Being a small city in its own right, Itamaracá has a hospital, police and ambulance stations, bank, post office, pharmacies, hotels, numerous stores, bakeries and minimarkets, as well as dozens of bars and restaurants.
With a history dating back almost 500 years, a wide range of delicious and locally caught seafood , and covered in fruit trees, 13 beaches, kitesurfing school (IKP), the island caters to everyone’s needs:
sailing kayaking kitesurfing hiking horseback riding biking reef snorkeling boat trips beach life cultural visits of the island’s heritage
Our family and kid friendly resort has a swimming pool, a launderette, BBQ stations and free parking on premises.
Our beach-front apartments are provided with king, queen and twin beds, Internet, sea views, cable TV, kitchen essentials, A/C.
We provide our guests with cleaning services, tourism information, airport transfers, and food delivery from a local chef.
